Programmers to encode human behaviour.

Programmers to encode human behaviour. Developers of HumanMarkup Language (HumanML) hope to use it to describe every aspect of the human character like emotions and attitude to physical appearance. Call me stupid but I've read all I can on this and still don't know what on Earth they're trying to do.

My mission was to fight

My mission was to fight the evils of the universe that appeared in the form Shoes. But these Shoes were clever and more wiley than I had imagined. After many years of fighting they finally gained on me by placing themselves on the staircase therefore hurling me to the bottom of said staircase. They stamped out there famous victory song as I lay with a twisted foot, bruised thigh and hip and grazed arm. They may have won the battle but the war isn't over.

Ie. I tripped on some shoes, fell to the bottom of the stairs and it still bloody hurts :(

In approximately two hours we have guests arriving from Pakistan but the fun started about four days ago. Cleaning of the house and especially their room is no easy task. Ordinarily it would be but of course my mum has special super sonic eyes that are rather sensitive to dust particles in hidden places. They all must be banished! This is just so that when the guests lift up the wardrobes with their bare hands or slide into the one inch gap under the bed they won't be utterly disgusted. Sure, I can understand that.

Misheard lyrics around these parts

Misheard lyrics around these parts lately:

"Sitting on the dock of Dubai..." by Otis Redding
"Whirlpool!" by The Troggs
"Mary had a little lamb, her fleas tasted just like snow.."
"A scrub is a guy who thinks he's fly and is also known as a bus stop.." by TLC

Heard any of your own?

I wouldn't say I was

I wouldn't say I was ever a fan of Aaliyah but I grew up listening to her music, I remember the R. Kelly rumours and I've watched and enjoyed her movies. And although I never knew her, this was still a shock. I know people are going to start the whole "Just because she was a celebrity. Many other people die every day" thing but I had never heard of those other people before they hit the news, I had heard of her. These people on the news were just names. She was a name, a face, a voice, a talent. Condolences to ALL who will miss her, whether they knew her or not.

It seems to be retro

It seems to be retro movie week in my family recently. We've been watching movies we loved as kids. They don't make them like that anymore. Probably because they're cheesy and badly acted but they're still entertaining. Amongst them is Mannequin, which was one of the first movies (along with The Care Bear Movie and Vice Versa) that I ever saw in the cinema. Talking of firsts, we are also watching The Witches which was the first movie I saw that had been adapted from a book I'd already read and loved. I'm still not too pleased with movies like that. A movie that also sticks in my mind is Toy Soldiers. Lately everyone has been talking about Wil Wheaton and I thought to myself, not Wil Wheaton from Toy Soldiers surely! I remember having a huge crush on him. But sure enough, he has his own blog now.

Talking of movies, there's one that's been playing on my mind for ages. I just can't remember the title. It involved a family who moved to a new house. Somehow the kid found an alien who liked to drink soda. He always made these windmills things out of the straws and later on they found out his family were near some hydroelectric windmills. Ring any bells? Or did I just make it up? And no, it's not E.T., Flight of the Navigator or Batteries Not Included.

No one'll want you she said. Don't you want to be happy she said. Bah humbug I said. And laughed like Mutley. But there were tears inside.

Anyone who knows me, I

Anyone who knows me, I mean really knows me, will be aware of my fascination with small cute objects. In fact my cooing over them never fails to bring a look of disgust to my cousin's face before she accuses me of being "such a girlie!" I have a collection of such objects, ranging from tiny shoes to itsy bitsy knifes (ooh still sharp!). Imagine my absolute delight then when I first came across ickle.org. It hosts a plethora of submissions about the minute things of this world. My favourite though has got to be the smallest rose. What says "I love you" better than a rose you can't see well with the naked eye?

Every now and then my hosts decide that I'm using too much space though I'm supposed to have an allowance of 100MB. So I try again and again to upload but to no avail and keep getting messages that say "Transfer abort. No space left on device". Over and over again. Until I get so mad that I throw up my hands in despair and.....blog about it. How's that for threatening behaviour?

I was just reading a magazine article and it seems some people are just meant to live for ages. During the last world war, a Japanese kamikaze pilot made no less than 11 suicide flights, only to survive them all. Each time he'd set off with no weapons and only enough fuel for a one-way trip, and return back to base completely unharmed. He also went on to live till the age of 93!

It took a month, in fact over a month, but my room is finally complete. There was a dilemma when I broke my new computer desk but it was later fixed so we'll say no more about that (or how I tried to juggle several large pieces of wood in an effort to join them together).

And so we move onto site matters. I was having problems with a bit of code but it's fixed and the result is what you see before you. Feel free to comment on new features and let me know what you think.

I know you voted for the yellow to stay but I went for something different. Never fear though, if you really liked the previous layout and just can't live without the yellow, it's available here.

Pinch and punch for the

Pinch and punch for the first of the month!

Now that bit of necessary silliness is over I'm going to tell you my plans for the next couple of weeks. Tomorrow I'm off to bonny Scotland until the 15th of this month. I was planning to launch what I've been working on for a while now but it'll have to wait till I get back because I have to finish some bits and pieces off. Until then, check out the weblogs [to go] I've been visiting recently and you can also help me out with a part of the site that I'll be putting up. It's so you can get to know me better, errrr, if you really want to. You ask me five questions and I'll answer and upload it to a section on the site. Keep it relatively clean people. Now if you'll excuse me, I have sweat drops trickling down my back and I think an emergency shower is needed. See you all in two weeks time!

You can use this form to send those questions or e-mail me. I'll love you forever.
