Three, three hour exams in three days.
It's fun being an accountant.
I've now enabled comments posting on the three word blog (found to your right, down a bit). I know I spoil you sometimes but you deserve it.
You don't have to limit yourself to just three words in your comments but you'll get extra points if you manage to.
Colleague 1 walks into the office with a black eye.
Colleague 2: What happened to you?!
Coleague 1: I went ten rounds with George Foreman, man!!
Silence.
Me: You opened a cupboard door and a George Foreman grill came flying out and smacked you in the head didn't it?
Colleague 1: *sheepish* Yeah...
I think my mum summed up Bonfire Night rather well tonight.
"It's a stupid tradition and a waste of money!"
Except she said it in Punjabi and it sounded even truer.
p.s. Happy 6th birthday to Saima Says :)
I'm not that great at that whole cooking lark. I am however Won't Cook rather than Can't Cook. Lately though I've been terribly excited about baking in particular. After a failed cooking attempt last week ("This tastes like Salmonella") I tried to redeem myself by making some cupcakes using a recipe from my new favourite blog, Cupcake Bakeshop.
I searched high and low for the special cupcake cases that I've seen used on many American cupcake sites. They're so difficult to find over here or in smaller quantities but eventually I found somewhere in Bristol that does them. They arrived on Friday so I got baking straight away. I knew the girls would boo and hiss if I made anything that wasn't chocolate so I used a simple chocolate cupcake recipe from the site. I think following the handy tips was my saving grace.
I was so pleased when they came out right! I managed to get 23 cupcakes so I think I slightly overfilled the cups but none of them overflowed. I did end up with one anaemic looking one (it was all the batter I had left) and that one got nicknamed "Nemo".

I wasn't sure which topping to go for but in the end opted for one that I already had the ingredients for, chocolate buttercream topped with Smarties. The recipe produced very light and moist cakes. All in all, a pleasing result if not a little sweet.
