Which Tea?

| | Comments (15) | TrackBacks (0)

I gave up tea the same day I gave up fizzy drinks, 31st December 2004.

Unfortunately, the tea abstinence ended a couple of months back when I started a new job and my stress levels went to new highs.

I'm back off tea now, a whole day spent in bed with a major headache caused by tea withdrawal made sure of that.

Now, my dilemma. I have started drinking dandelion tea and frankly it tastes like grass and not the good type either. So I ask for your help, apart from hot water, which I'm rather partial to, do you have any hot drink recommendations? Preferably ones that are good for me.

Try Green Tea with Aloe Vera (good for the tummy - and my current fave!) Fennel Tea (again good for the tummy) Green Tea with Jasmine or hot water with a slice of lemon. Or you can try Sencha Green Tea... Very nice!

Don't leave the tea bag in for too long, that's when it goes all bitter!

Wowza, you're very sensetive to stimulants. I occasionally drink good old PG tips, but I think they're being renamed to 12A tips, to increase sales to youngsters.

I would recommend experimenting for yourself, get a bunch of different ones, most of them are rich in anti-oxidants so its just matter of finding a nice flavour.

Fred where are you? you love herbal teas

Funnily enough, after writing my last comment, I was given some peppermint tea bags by someone who sits opposite me, in order to help me stay awake.
It didn't really keep me awake, but then again I once had 2 red bulls and felt sleepy.
It tasted quite nice though :)

Jasmine tea is where it's at. Fruit infusions tend to be a bit weak, unless saturated with sugar. I think I like green tea, but is that the same as jasmine? pink tea...yuk. Some people I know swear by plain hot water. Decaff - don't know the point of it really.

peppermint tea. try that. i was on it during my need-hot-drink-fix days. i must admit herbal teas take getting used to, and so you slowly acquire the taste but peppermint tea just makes it more..bearable. #1 recommendation

The thing with fruit teas is that they promise such deliciousness and deliver so little. It's an olfactory deception I tell ya!

Has anyone tried white tea? I hear its horrid.

Hey don't worry, tea is good for you, I read new research yesterday that it actually rehydrates you contrary to popular belief. Also it's a good antioxidant and it has some fluoride, so though it stains teeth it actually keeps them strong. I am not connected with the tea industry, I know how this looks, oh well will have to ride the waves of cynicism in my surfboard of integrity.

(Yeah fizzy drinks are no good I agree.)

Had two cups of tea yesterday. One not very nice but the other was awesome. Mainly due to the company though :)

Yeah I always go for PG-Tips. A company you can trust.
