Time Trumpet

If you watch one thing on TV at the moment, make it BBC 2's Time Trumpet. It's a "spoof clip show in which celebrity talking heads reminisce about events of the past decades" and its probably the funniest thing I've watched in a while. The year is 2031 and the presenter looks back at 2006 onwards with views from an aging Charlotte Church and decrepit David Beckham. It also features an appearance from Steward Lee who is one of my favourite comedians.

You've only missed two episodes so far but clips can be seen at the Time Trumpet and BBC 2 websites. Unfortunately there are no clips for the Eastenders' "all the drinks and glasses in the Queen Vic are coordinated against a green screen without actors and CGIed in afterwards" bit. Magic.

Here's a short film fans of Time Trumpet have liked:

A satire on the "war on terror" that is even more topical and controversial now that bottles, jars and cans are banned from flights - and in view of last night's events in West Virginia.

Fantastic Find! Few are on Armando's level and to this day I contend 'the Armando Ianucci show' is the best sketch show ever made, despite only 1 series.

Although, I have a feeling our blogess caught on to this when she saw Stewart Lee was on this and also that he is now in the much coveted silverfox territory ;)
