More like CINDY Miller

Quaker, in their wisdom, have decided to use old animation star Windy Miller to front their latest ad campaign to bring their numerous oats based cereals back into the limelight.

I have no problem with rehashing old favourites to sell products. What I find mildy disturbing is the fact that Windy appears to be something of a ladies' man in the ads, chasing the local talent in an attempt to "sow his oats". There are also some posters around featuring Windy surrounded by plasticine versions of car show blondes.

Why do I have a problem with this? Let's look at the evidence, shall we?

The long hair. The dress. The perfectly coordinated accessories! Obviously Windy likes a bit of dressing up, making a regular appearance at Drag Night held every Wednesday in Camberwick Green's only gay bar as Wendy Miller.

Unless our friend is in fact a lesbian trapped in a man's body a la Eddie Izzard, I'm not buying the whole thing for one minute.

He looks like a simple country guy to me who is wanting to say something during a town meeting in a country town hall.
