I'm not particularly fond of the family doctor and I haven't been for quite some years. I have tolerated him however for the sake of ease but recent events have pushed to rethink why we still keep him as our doctor or why he is allowed to practice as one in the first place. Why do I doubt his competence?

Right ..... Your doctor sound's like the quack we used to have when we lived in Newcastle. Whenever I had a cold my doctor wouldn't even bother to examine me, he would just prescribe banana flavoured Amoxil syrup, pat on the head, lollipop and back home.

i don't know how much of what all of you are saying is true or just satire, but the immoderate, unjustified use of antibiotics is the reason why microbes are becoming resistant. antibiotics for a cold? surely you jest.
