I am content

| | Comments (1)

It happened by accident too. I didn't make any conscious effort to get here. I trundled along and look where I ended up. Content. As snug as a bug in a rug. I think I deserve it too.

I won't lie. The last few years have taken their toll. I'm wiser. I've gained that only by losing something else. I lost the ability to trust blindly. It was a straight out swap.

When you lose someone the worst thing that someone can say to you is "time heals". You know it is true but you want to grieve. Time can wait. Wait till I'm done grieving dammit. I haven't stopped yet either but the pain is slightly less piercing. I thought I could look at their pictures and watch their videos and not feel much but I was wrong. It is easier however. Oh yes. And though I hold this pain inside me still I console myself with reports of their safety and this keeps me going. I am content with this. This way of dealing with their memory. I am scared sometimes of that memory fading but I know deep inside this will never happen.

Happy is further away but I'm content. This contentment is through necessity but it is there all the same. Content with all that is around me and all that is inside. I'm finally dealing. Thank you.

The word sight cannot be replaced with site just because you're writing for the web. Thank you.

Things That Are Not Good

| | Comments (4)

1) Earthquakes.
2) Jeans worn with a suit jacket, or even worse, a green blazer with brown leather patches on the elbow.
3) Being sent spanners in the post when you didn't order any.
4) Breaking your third pair of sunglasses this year.
5) Lack of parking space.
6) Saying goodbye.
7) Getting bored of a really good song because it has been on loop for 7 hours.
8) This bloody eyelash floating on the surface of my eye.
9) Biting your tongue, literally and metaphorically.
10) No internet access from your work computer. That takes the biscuit.

M1 baby yeah!

Motorways are not as scary as they seem. Kitten heels are.

Dear Amazon Gold Box,

I do not need any power tools no matter how much of a bargain they are. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Saima

p.s. I wouldn't mind a couple of Bratz though.

The Day

| | Comments (2)

I spent the day with my family. That is all and it was enough. I didn't want to explain, debate, commiserate, retaliate. I spent it with the ones I love and that are close. That is all and it was more than enough.

I'm not making this up, honest

"Zoophilia is best described as a love of animals so intimate that the person (and the animal) involved have no objections to expressing their affection for each other in the sexual fashion. This is not to be confused with bestiality, where a person forcefully mates an animal, without their consent, and with no mutual feelings whatsoever. This is something that I would never do to a dolphin, since I love them dearly, and treat them with the same respect that an honest husband would have for his wife and children."

Netflix

Is there a Netflix or equivalent service in the U.K.?

Finger slipped

I mistyped the URL and discovered http://www.friendsrenited.co.uk/ points to Amazon. Those cheeky sods.

I'm Not Cool?

You know when you see yourself on screen after that party? You didn't realise that you were being filmed at the time and you thought you looked quite cool dancing like that. Well, you didn't. Great.

Webloggers Webring

The webloggers webring is dead, remove your ring code.

I went to remove mine but realised I had removed it ages ago since it had stopped working.

Proposition

You know what would be really great? On-line instruction manuals. For example, I hardly ever keep instruction manuals for electronic goods. Clutter are they. But then, uh oh, I need to know how a certain feature works on my digital cordless phone and I'm pretty much buggered because I threw out the manual ages ago.

Solution: log on to the manufaturer's site, find the instruction manual (pdf or html version) for that particular model of phone and 'flick' through it. Or I could even download it onto my hard drive for future reference and have a folder full of manuals for all my gadgets. Without the clutter.

It has probably already happened....

Best of the Web

The teenage fansites are still the prettiest and most eye pleasing sites out there.

Crash Bonsai

I'm all for miniature. I love it in fact. But CrashBonsai is a little sad and disturbing even for me.

Plain Jane

Excuse the appearance. I'm still sorting my shit out after moving hosts. It seems when I saved all my templates using this method I had "no space left on device" and therefore they didn't get saved. Thanks phpwebhosting! Now I have to start from scratch. Sigh.

Also I didn't renew thedj.nu so that address no longer points to this site and e-mails to any @thedj.nu addresses don't come to me anymore.

Can you?

Can you be sarcastic and optimistic at the same time?
